Benefits of Red Cabbage

The benefits of red cabbage are as follows:

 Vitamin C, that is contained in red cabbage, is a crucial antioxidant in order for us to have a strong immune system. By stimulating the activity of white blood cells, they form the first line of defense in the immune system.Also, vitamin C is a nutrient-dense antioxidant. Vitamin C, because of that,  is known to have high antioxidant potency that assists in the minimization of the harmful effects of the reactive species.

Red cabbage contains phytonutrients, which help reduce chronic inflammation. And sulforaphane is one of the compounds in red cabbage that is a potential inflammation killer. Also eating a diet filled with anthocyanin-rich fruits and vegetables, for example, red cabbage must be a part of every arthritis patient’s daily regimen, according to several studies. 

Cell degeneration will happen, during a normal human life, no matter how healthy you live.By filling your diet with food that is high in antioxidants, you give your body the best chance possible at preventing, as well as, combating serious chronic diseases. Furthermore,  red cabbage is a Brassica vegetable. As such, red cabbage is one of those antioxidant-rich foods, with an ORAC(Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value of 2,496 when it’s raw and 3,145 when it’s boiled.  Red cabbage, kale, and broccoli are all Brassica vegetables and they aid the body in preventing chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
